With me so far behind on blogging (sorry about that), you may be worrying that we'll be iced in Lake Superior if we don't get going. Put your minds at ease because we have in fact moved on. There's a new item in the sidebar, "Recent Noodin Sightings", that we'll try to keep current. The … Continue reading Where are we really?

Battle Island (July 20-21)
Location: 48°45.3’N, 87°33.1’W The plan was to leave Woodbine Harbour, stop at Battle Island to see the lighthouse, and then continue on to the town of Rossport and possibly spend the night there. We entered the anchorage at Battle Island only to find that the wind was blowing hard enough to take the enjoyment out … Continue reading Battle Island (July 20-21)
Woodbine Harbour (July 19th)
Location: 48°45.2’N, 87°43.3’W The sun was high in the sky as we left the CPR slips which made navigating the shallows easier. Woodbine Harbour was the day’s destination and was a relatively short jaunt. The wind was light so it was yet another day of listening to the drone of the diesel. The rock face … Continue reading Woodbine Harbour (July 19th)
Otter Cove and Red Rock, Ontario (July 14-17)
Otter Cove (48°37.2’N,88°13.5’W) was just a short 10 miles or so from Loon Harbour and was supposed to be a beautiful spot. Once again, the wind wasn’t cooperating so we motored our way through the islands to Otter Cove. Thank God for the chart plotter and GPS or navigation would have been a real struggle. … Continue reading Otter Cove and Red Rock, Ontario (July 14-17)
Red Rock Ontario
Sitting here in Red Rock Ontario at the moment trying to post some blogs but it's not working so well. I'll try it without the pictures and see if it works. If it does, I'll add the pictures later. Sorry....
Alive and Well in Rock Harbor (7-10)
We made it safely to Isle Royal a week ago and have been moving around the island. We're currently sitting in the Rock Harbor Lodge taking advantage of some free but sketchy Internet. I tried to post some blogs with pictures included but it didn't work so all you get is this crummy text. We'll … Continue reading Alive and Well in Rock Harbor (7-10)
Our Time in Windigo (July 3rd – July 6th)
To show what a small world we live in, we met up with an internet friend when we got to Windigo. Bill lives in Michigan's upper peninsula and happened to be on Isle Royal diving wrecks with some friends. We shouted him out on the radio the evening of our arrival and he came by … Continue reading Our Time in Windigo (July 3rd – July 6th)

Just wanted to let everyone know how I think comments work. The first time you leave a comment it will not be posted to the blog until I review and approve it. This is done to minimize the number of "spam" comments. After the first comment is approved, future comments should be posted immediately. That … Continue reading A Note About Comments to the Blog
Oops, sorry about that and a trip to Raspberry Island that wasn’t
We were getting ready for a few days away from the dock with a destination of Raspberry Island in mind. Last minute provisions (beer) were purchased and stowed and water was taken on. I got the kayak tied on the davits like you see in the banner picture on the blog site. We had a … Continue reading Oops, sorry about that and a trip to Raspberry Island that wasn’t
Blogging Takes Discipline (and internet)
We've been keeping busy here in Bayfield with a variety of things but unfortunately the only sailing we've done is on someone else's boat. We did manage to get launched about a week ago but parts trouble has kept us from getting our mast up. We have all new sails in the backseat of the … Continue reading Blogging Takes Discipline (and internet)
